Beef Fest 5k

Run for the Brand comes to Beef Fest for the third annual 5K and stick horse race for kids! On the morning of August 19th, come to The Orchard north of Emporia on Highway 99 and enjoy this unique 5K! The race features unconventional ranch obstacles that will be fun for all. Check-in will begin at 7:00 a.m. and the events will get underway at 8:00 a.m. The 5K is open to serious runners and those who simply want to have fun. A stick horse race for kids 12 and under will follow the 5K.

Awards for the 5K will be given to the top three men and top three women in each age group. Age groups are 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49 and 50+. Children ages 6 and under and 7-12 may enter the stick horse race for free.

The registration fee for the 5K is $25 in advance or $30 the day of the race. There also is a special $15 rate for youth ages 19 and under and a $50 family rate which includes four registrations, four race packets and two T-shirts! Register before August 11 to guarantee you receive a complimentary T-shirt. Non-runners who want to learn more about the land and ranching tasks are welcome!

All proceeds will benefit the Ranchland Trust of Kansas (RTK), a non-profit organization affiliated with the Kansas Livestock Association. RTK’s mission is to preserve Kansas’ ranching heritage and open spaces for future generations through the conservation of working landscapes.
